May Giveaway Day :: Munki Roller Skates

I’ve been in this quilting blog world a little more than a year so it must be time for a little giveaway. And I might as well do it in conjunction with May Giveaway Day with Sew, Mama, Sew!

I have been collecting Heather Ross / Munki Munki prints for a little while now and have made one little baby quilt with them. I plan to make a large quilt someday but need some more ideas before I start.ย  In my collection efforts, I ended up with a little extra of the new Munki roller skate prints so I thought I could share.

Up for grabs is a sampling of each of the prints pictured below (roughly a 8″ x 10″ piece of each print; about a fat quarter all together). Please keep in mind that the pieces have little tiny holes along the edges from where they were sewn together. Hopefully you can put them to good use!

Munki > Rolller Skates [FOR SWAP]

Details on a chance to win:

  • Please leave a comment on this post with a way for me to contact you in case you do win (email, link to blog, etc..).
  • And if you’ve done something with Heather Ross / Munki Munki prints, I would love a link to see your favorite creation(s); remember I need ideas!
  • Comments will be closed at the end of the day May 20 (Central time).
  • I will then choose a winner at random.
  • Please leave one comment only.
  • International commenters are welcome.

Good luck!

OMG! I had no idea there was rollerskating fabric. I used to go rollerskating every Saturday when I was in 5th grade! I would totally make something for my childhood friend who used to go with me! She will totally crack up when I show her this fabric! hrobbins422 at yahoo dot com

I adore HR/Munki but I’ve mainly used her prints as scraps in different projects. I have a HR Dolls petite bag to giveaway on my blog, but there are mixed opinions on the actual success of the project. Check out flickr – it is such a source of inspiration.

I’ve been looking at munki munki on the internet and it is so whimsical. It would be fun to win this and use for a quilt for one of my grandnieces. They are old enough for “I spy” patterns. Thank you for this giveaway. mlwright29 (at) hotmail (dot) com

I love the roller skates. I used to have a white pair with hot pink wheels. I used to skate in my parents unfinished basement listening to the Dirty Dancing soundtrack on cassette tape. I don’t think I was a dork. I wish I wouldn’t have gotten rid of all the stuff I had from my childhood/youth. They would be so much fun to have now. I adore this fabric. Seriously. I have a pair of skates that I use when pushing my buggy (stroller) around town. The kids and I have a great time! I get a lot of strange looks, but it’s a fantastic way to have fun and get some exercise at the same time. As soon as I have this baby (less than two weeks, woot!), I’ll be back on my skates in no time. Can’t wait!

I did buy two heather ross prints and I plan to make a two layer skirt for my daughter with them. The green horse fabric on top, with a caliocy-stripe of hers in pink on the bottom!
I also just got some great butterfly munki munki that I plan to use as ruffles bordering the straps of a tank top – for me! ๐Ÿ™‚
