I have decided that I love quilting. Absolutely love it. It makes me happy to play with fabric and put it together to try and create a beautiful object. I like every step in the quilting process, especially the step of designing and figuring out my next quilt – which requires researching (reading quilty blogs and watching flickr pools), selecting fabric and determining the design.
I’ve thought a lot about why I love quilting and have tried several times to put it into words but I just can’t explain it eloquently. I have several drafted blog posts on the subject but can’t ever get all of my thoughts out or coherent enough, so those blog posts remain in the “draft” status.
In an effort to be a better quilter and grow as a fabric artist, I am taking the Process Pledge and will do my best to document my quilting process rather than just the end result of my quilting.
I pledge to talk more about my processes, even when I can’t quite put them in the in words or be sure I’m being totally clear. I’m going to put my thinking and my gut feelings out there.
I’ve already started on my next quilt and will try to explain the whys and hows of it tomorrow. Must get to sleep now.
