A couple of years ago, I made the bedding set above for my middle daughter. It’s really quite fun to make doll quilts since the reward of finishing the quilt comes so much faster than a large quilt. It’s also not as daunting to make a smaller scale quilt design since there’s not as many blocks to make.
This weekend I am going on a quilt retreat. I plan on making doll bedding sets for my other two daughters (for each: a quilt, a blanket for the end of the bed, mattress with cover, two pillow cases).
My oldest daughter’s fabrics are shown above. The floral print on the right is the inspiration for the fabric selection. I’ll use the floral for one side of the blanket and a soft aqua minky on the back..
I used the doll blanket that comes with the IKEA doll bed as color inspiration for my youngest daughter’s doll bedding (shown above). The pink dot minky plus the IKEA print will become the doll blanket for the end of the bed. I really like the rainbow-y look of these fabrics together.
