Update + more contributions/giveaways

Again, I am completely overwhelmed by the response to make blocks for Errick’s quilt. Thank you.

I have guesstimated that I will need around 100 blocks for the quilt (total is hard to calculate since the block widths can vary). I am pretty sure that I will get at least that many in the mail in the next week or so, based on the number of people that have messaged me for my address (I believe there are about 50 people that have committed to sending at least one block). If I end up with enough blocks to make two large quilts, then two quilts I will make and we will find someone else that needs an arse kicking quilt.

If I have already sent you my address, please go ahead and send in your block/s (remembering to include your name/address/flickr name on or in the envelope).

But, starting tomorrow (Monday, July 26), I will no longer need new commitments to make blocks. If I realize I need more blocks during the process, I will put out another call for help.

In other news, I also have more people offering to help with this collaboration (!), outside of making blocks.

Laura Kay is a fellow member of the DMQG and also owns a wonderful quilt shop, Happiness Is . . . Quilting! in McKinney, Texas. She has offered to help me with the batting for the quilt.

And then another unnamed quilter is offering a Blush charm pack for a prize giveaway.

And lastly, I had a request for a button for this collaboration. Here it is… feel free to post it on your blog, if you feel so inclined. You can link back to the flickr group if you would like.

I have never made a blog button before or done the linky bits, so if this is the wrong size for blogs or if there is a better way to do this, let me know.

Again, thank you everyone for your efforts to make this quilt come together.
