I started on another quilt.
I rationalized that I could start a new quilt because it’s just doll sized, so I should be able to finish it quickly. Not that I need to because it’ll be a Christmas gift for my niece (whose favorite colors are pink and purple).
The doll quilt is sized to fit her American Girl doll and the wooden doll bed (“Duktig”) from IKEA (the bed will be painted to match and will also be part of the gift). The bed looks to be the right length for the doll but it’s a little wide (in case you are wondering).
The quilt design was inspired by this pattern with just a little Denyse Schmidt mixed in. The squares in the blocks aren’t centered, but it’s hard to tell. I probably should have offset them more. I used a charm pack of Clementine by Me and My Sister Designs for Moda. The purple plaid border fabric is by Moda too, but I don’t know the line or designer.
This was my first experience using a precut fabric pack. I love how much faster the project comes together with the headstart of precut fabric.
I’m also going to make a pillow, matching pillowcase and mattress to go along with the quilt. I can’t wait to see it all come together.
